Why America is the Most Powerful Nation in the World?

by keyvan

“America is not the most powerful, best nation in the world because we are rich or have a large military but because we represent the moral authority of a democratic people representing the dignity of each individual on this planet.” The above is the concluding statement of

Congressman Mark Kirk

representing the 10th District of Illinois. He is the author and presenter of

the House Resolution 175 before the United States Congress

The H.R. 175 Resolution calls for defending the human rights of the innocent Bahaís of Iran. The Resolution passed bringing the most impressive number of votes, truly witnessing the global moral leadership of the American democracy.

Congressman Kirk expresses his worry about the rootless nature of Iranian Regimeand how far they will go with their “ignorant and uncultured persecution” declaring:

“I am worried that Iranian Intelligent Service and Ministry has now registered the addresses of every Bahaí and every Bahaí business in the country. I am worried that they have already labeled Bahaí businesses as ineligible for government contracting. We have seen the bureaucracy of a new Cristal Nacht formed in Iran. I worry that with this bureaucracy now fully formed, we could see a tremendous human rights abuse occur against hundreds of thousands of peaceful individuals. That is why this Resolution is so important. Not just to call attention to crimes that have been committed but to a potential crime against humanity which, in my judgement, the dictators of Iran are fully capable of committing. That is why this Institution rises to its full potential underscoring the point that America is not the most powerful, best nation in the world because we are rich or have a large military but because we represent the moral authority of a democratic people representing the dignity of each individual on this planet.”

kidsidebyside applauds the H.R. 175 Resolution and expresses its heartfelt appreciation and thanks to Congressman Mark Kirk and the United States Congress for their leadership in defense of human rights of all humanity.

Here we see the fulfilment of the prayers of Abdu’l-Baha who visited United States in 1912 after being released himself from a 40 year prison in Palestine at the hand of Iranian and Ottoman governments. Abdu’l-Baha must have noted the potential of not just material prosperity of American nation but the spiritual leadership of the American Democracy to “upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity and to promulgate the Most Great Peace”.

Abdu’l-Baha prayed: “O God! Let this American democracy become glorious in spiritual degrees even as it has aspired to material degrees, and render this just government victorious. Confirm this revered nation to upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity, to promulgate the Most Great Peace, to become thereby most glorious and praiseworthy among all the nations of the world…”

To further the task of global leadership of the oneness of all humanity, now we need the United States Senate to rise to this occasion and make real the promise of “Never Again”

We shall continue to pray.
